Arcaplanet in Lerici hosts a unique event: ” La veleggiata 4 zampe nel Golfo”

On Saturday, October 5, the picturesque town of Lerici, overlooking the Gulf of Poets and the Cinque Terre, was the stunning backdrop for a unique event: “La Veleggiata 4 Zampe nel Golfo”, the first four-legged sailing regatta in the Tyrrhenian Sea. The event, organized by Arcaplanet in collaboration with the Municipality of Lerici and the Circolo della Vela ERIX, brought together pets and their owners to sail across the scenic waters of eastern Liguria.

This full-day event, both playful and educational, focused on the well-being of pets and the importance of the human-animal bond. In a heartfelt gesture, Arcaplanet also donated one ton of pet food to the Municipality of Lerici, which will be distributed to local animal shelters.

The day started at 1:00 PM with the much-anticipated sailing regatta, where pets and their owners sailed the Gulf together as the stars of the show. Each participant received a kit with toys and food for their pets, along with a bag containing a t-shirt, beach towel, and discount vouchers for the pet owners.

Following the regatta, the event continued with “In Piazza con i Pet”, a series of informative sessions featuring talks, advice, and discussions on important social topics such as adoption and pet therapy. The discussions were moderated by Giulia Crivelli, journalist from Il Sole 24 Ore. Present at the event were Arcaplanet’s veterinary expert, Mario Colombo, President of Frida’s Friends Onlus, as well as the Deputy Mayor of Lerici, Marco Russo, the Councilor for Social and Health Policies, Alessandria Di Sibio, and Arcaplanet CEO Nicolò Galante.

In the afternoon, participants enjoyed live demonstrations by the Guardians of the Moon Association, with their guide dogs for the visually impaired, and the S.O.G.IT Milano and Public Assistance of Lerici teams, showcasing rescue dogs in sea operations.

The day concluded at 8:00 PM in Piazza Garibaldi with a festive moment of celebration and awards, where the pets that took part in the sailing regatta were honored.
