60 Years Becoming Reality: a story of craftsmanship and enterprise

How do you tell a story? How do you pay tribute to a company that has shaped the history of Italian fashion and to all those who have contributed to its growth?

Cristina Tardito celebrates the 60th anniversary of her family’s company, where she began her journey in the late 1990s, through Kristina Ti REALITY, a photographic book that needs no words. The images speak for themselves—through her garments, her women, all women.

Where It All Began

Tamigi was founded in 1964, specializing in fine-knit intimate apparel that revolutionized the market with high-quality, ultra-lightweight yarns. The company experienced significant growth starting in the mid-1970s with the launch of its beachwear line, which introduced style and sensuality to technical and athletic wear for the first time.

Entrepreneurial intuition and cutting-edge technology, combined with the ability to manage the complete production cycle in-house—design, pattern-making, prototyping, and sampling, all the way to full-scale production—embody the essence of Made in Italy, specifically Made in Piedmont.

From its inception, Kristina Ti has embodied a heritage of quality and craftsmanship, enriched by Cristina Tardito’s unique vision and creativity. Her minimalist yet sensual approach to fashion has resonated deeply with women, offering not just a way to dress, but a way to be.

60 Years, 15 Women

“The photographic book REALITY was born from a desire to pay homage to what we’ve been and what we are today,” explains Cristina.

The project captures the brand’s commitment to telling new stories rooted in the past, challenging clichés and exploring the unknown. Fifteen women embody the essence of Kristina Ti in personal, irreverent ways. The images serve as a symbolic extension of the company’s philosophy: celebrating what is authentic, human, and unique. For 60 years.

For this project, Cristina chose the provocative lens of photographer Steve Panariti, whose work captures subjects in their real lives, producing raw, intense, and deeply dramatic images.

Who Are These Women?

Friends and strangers alike. In REALITY, you’ll find Mariella, a well-known TV journalist; Viola, a dancer and choreographer; Lola, Cristina’s daughter; and Michela, a lifelong journalist friend. There’s also Iris, a contestant from a show where Cristina was a judge, and Giovanna, her mother.

Others include Francesca, an illustrator; Viviana, a shop assistant; Olina, a former model; Margherita and Rebecca, students; Asia, a club owner; Marta, a model over 60; and Ania…

Cristina turned to social media to cast her final subjects. She issued a challenge, and 800 women responded. Eight were chosen, selected for their personality. Ranging in age from 18 to 80, these women were diverse but united by their willingness to be photographed without hesitation.

The project culminates with two intimate stories, featuring Cristina’s mother and daughter as the symbolic link between past, present, and future. Giovanna and Lola share their truths, discussing “What I like and what I don’t.”

Through Panariti’s lens, each woman reveals a deep, sometimes dark side. They “tell” their truths with sincerity, ease, and intensity.

Kristina Ti garments are almost secondary—the focus is on reality itself, paying tribute to a story that belongs to all women.

Free, seductive, dynamic, intriguing, challenging, bold, gritty, direct, fragile, authentic, powerful, weary, magnetic, defiant, complex, daring, sensitive, playful, curious, fascinating, resilient.

This is Reality.
