Manila Grace celebrates women, once again; and does so by showing the Spring/Summer 2022 collection on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
A femininity to live fully and without constraints that of Manila Grace, which has always been inspired
by strong, independent and intelligent women to design inclusive collections, a real concentration of positive energy and freedom in its purest form. The key word of this collection is “Muse”, in classical culture one
of the daughters of Zeus, embodiment of the supreme ideal of Art, but also a name that indicates a plant originating in southern China from which the natural and resistant fibers of Manila Grace fabrics can be obtained.
Three are the exceptional muses of this fashion show. The first is Elenoire Casalegno, exceptional speaker of an introductory poem that encapsulates the essence of Manila Grace identity; an invocation in a contemporary lyrical key of the power of clothing in communicating oneself, of the importance of remaining faithful to one’s identity by expressing oneself fully through silhouettes and colors, clothes and accessories. To underline the mood of the collection, the exclusive DJ Set signed by Fernanda Lessa, Manila Grace’s second muse for this Spring-Summer.
Cuts and shades of SS22 come from afar, from Africa with its wild, uncontaminated and primitive nature. Here is a palette that mixes earthy and enveloping nuances, as hot as the sand of the savannah,
and saturated and full shades such as midnight blue and turquoise that recall the starry skies of that part
of the planet. Precious details composed of embroidery and inlays with a colonial appeal, a mix of clean
and rigorous silhouettes and refined fabrics, combined with ethno-chic prints. Wide blouses, soft pants, shorts and chemises are revived in an urban safari key, ending with wide multicoloured dresses that encapsulate all the joie de vivre of a summer to be lived with passion. To complete the look, colorful sandals, folk wedges and maxi heels to match with the iconic bags Jasmine and Felicia, and the new shoppers of the season.
The extra twist? The sunglasses with sinuous shapes and psychedelic palette included for the first time
in the collection and made under license by Castellani, a leading company in the eyewear industry.
To close the défilé the third Manila Grace muse, the beautiful Elena Santarelli with a maxi dress gypsy chic macro flounces, with thin straps and deep V-neck, cyclamen pink in perfect Manila Grace style.
