Founded in 1899 and transformed into a guesthouse in 1922, Pensione America was a refuge for artists, nobles, and bon vivants during the Dolce Vita era. Today, after a meticulous artisanal restoration led by architect Piera Tempesti Benelli, it returns as an intimate five-star adults-only retreat, part of The Leading Hotels of the World.
Just 200 meters from the sea and its private beach club, Bagno Assunta, it offers 18 rooms and suites with terraces overlooking a Mediterranean garden. Every detail celebrates Italian craftsmanship: from the majolica tiles by Nicolò Giuliano to custom bamboo furnishings, from Elena Carozzi’s wallpapers to hand-crafted terracotta floors.
